The World Duathlon Championships were held this year in Penticton British Columbia Canada, Penticton is a town on the shore of Lake Okanagan, which I am looking out onto as I write this. Pacer Steven Rue competed in the Standard Distance race (10k run, 40k bike, 5k run) finishing in 6th and 1st UK athlete in his age group (65-69), in a time of 2hrs 24 mins. The weather for the event was good as was the organisation but the icing on the cake must be the partial eclipse of the sun(90%) while recovering at the finish, what a day. Suffolk also had another competitor, Scott Williams who runs for Stow Striders.
